My passion in photography is capturing the essence/genuine feeling of my subject.
I have always loved photography since I was a kid because I loved an idea of saving a moment I was having. However, my photo passion truly took off in 2007 as I attended photo classes at West Valley College. One day I was able to capture the pure, candid and genuine expression of my friend that showed an internal beauty of her which I hadn't noticed before. Through this experience, I realized the fact that a camera can capture and save moments of true beauty and emotion which would otherwise fade away to be lost in the passage of time. This changed the way in which I viewed the world and also my life.
I have lived in Asia, Europe and North America and during my stays in each area had jobs in the sales and service industry. As a result, I was able to see firsthand that every culture has different manners, modes of paying respect, and just in general, ways of thinking. However, there is one thing that I always found in common: all people value sincerity. If you are honest, people react honestly. It may sound a little cheesy and naïve, but I believe it is true. I think it is the most beautiful interaction that we can have.
My goal is extracting that honesty of feeling through the lens of the camera and into an image. This way allows me to see more clearly.
